Merge commit from fork
The positive-offset branch of `${variable:offset}` expansion advanced
`sub_val` past the cloned heap buffer without bounds-checking `offset`
against `strlen(sub_val)`. Subsequent `strlen()` and `strcat()` then
read adjacent heap memory into the output buffer.
